Winnie the Pooh Should Teach Social Media

A. A. Milne’s beloved character Winnie the Pooh was wise beyond his stuffing. Perhaps some of his thoughts could teach us how to behave better on social media where the world is always watching. Maybe Justine Sacco could have kept her job had she been more up on the wisdom of that lovable bear. Here are a few points made in-between paws full of honey hunny from Winnie the Pooh and friends that everyone should listen to when posting to social media, and, life in general. Thanks to A. A. Milne for his genius.

“Always watch where you are going. Otherwise, you may step on a piece of the forest that was left out by mistake.”

“A day without a friend is like a pot without a single drop of honey left inside.”

“Don’t underestimate the value of doing nothing, of just going along, listening to all the things you can’t hear, and not bothering.”

“If the person you are talking to doesn’t appear to be listening, be patient. It may simply be that he has a small piece of fluff in his ear.”

“You can’t stay in your corner of the forest waiting for others to come to you. You have to go to them sometimes.”

“People who don’t think probably don’t have brains; rather, they have grey fluff that’s blown into their heads by mistake.”

“They’re funny things, accidents. You never have them till you’re having them.”

“A little consideration, a little thought for others, makes all the difference.”

Hopefully social media can better itself before the mob mentality and poor decisions on content destroy its value.
